Southbound: Rachel Bilson in Hart of Dixie

Rachel Bilson is Zoe Hart, a fast-talking NY doctor tasked to exchange her big city zingers for some sugary Southern charm.

Rachel Bilson first made waves as sassy California girl Summer Roberts on the teen soap The O.C.  This year, we get a weekly dose of her ridiculous cuteness as she returns to TV in Hart of Dixie.

In this medical comedy drama, Bilson plays Dr. Zoe Hart, a young Manhattan surgeon forced to take her practice to Alabama.  In the tiny town of Bluebell, rush hour-traffic is replaced by costume balls, and martinis are traded in for peach-bourbons.

Executive producer Leila Gerstein says,  “I created a town that I want to move to, with parades; where people dangle their feet off the porches and sip mint juleps.”

Reuniting with Bilson as executive producer is The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz.  "I knew if I came back to TV it would have to be with Josh,” says Bilson in an interview with US Weekly.  “So I'm really excited I get to torture him again."

Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) plays town heartthrob lawyer George Tucker, while Jaime King (My Generation) is George’s high-society fiancée Lemon Breeland.

We know y’all are fixin’ to see Hart of Dixie.  Catch it fresh and Newest in the US, here on 2nd Avenue, Wednesday nights at 8pm.
